Fellow Law Enforcement Officer’s

To all in the Office of the Attorney General who are members of the PBA and to those of you who are not.

I understand the amount of frustration each of you have regarding our lack of financial progress. But we are at a crossroads. It is now that we must come together to argue as one. The PBA has stated that we are a priority for them in 2009. It is our numbers that will give us strength in the future argument over pay raises. If we stand separate then we are not strong. At this time, there are other chapters that have offered their assistance to us in this coming round of negotiations. Join us in 2009; please ensure that someone fights on your behalf and that you are not alone.

One of the requests over the last two years has finally come to fruition. That request was for the opportunity to work four tens. We have finally been given that chance. But remember, this was a request that started with the PBA –SLEO. A request that evolved into the OAG rolling out the four tens for their entire organization.

Another request that is being considered regards the “Business Attire” status for investigators (not needing the shirt and tie for their investigative efforts on certain days). Our management is attempting to work out a change in current policy that will benefit us and save us our hard earned dollars.

We are all separated throughout the state working in different offices, I urge you to please call me with questions and comments. I am available and do my best to ensure that we have a say in the State Law Enforcement Officer’s chapter in the PBA. Communication for me is difficult when there is no specific news to report but please rest assured that I do my best in giving management an understanding of our lives as Investigators and the problems we encounter.

Sincerely Yours,
John Koutsoupis
